The benefits of regular exercise have been known for many years through research published in scientific and medical journals worldwide.  Based on this research, the Canadian government as well as many disease-related organizations promote regular exercise as an important activity to help Canadians maintain good health and decrease the risk of developing a variety of conditions that may lead to premature death including:

Exercise has also been shown to:

  • Reduce depression and anxiety

  • Improve psychological well-being
